Background Checks

The YMCA of Greater Dayton conducts criminal background checks on all new employees and high-access volunteers. Background checks are conducted by Assure Hire and Sterling. Background checks are currently housed with HR and Volunteers Plus.

Process for reviewing criminal convictions discovered through the criminal background check: 

  • The HR department will review all staff background checks. 
  • Josh Haynes/Branch Executive will review Sterling for Sports Coaches. 
  • The Volunteer Coordinator will review background checks for other branch volunteers.
